A Majestic Celebration

New Year’s Day is one of the most anticipated days for the general public, but it’s quite possibly one of the most critical days for lowriders. For as long as I can remember, New Years’ Day for the lowriding community meant that you needed to find out where the Majestics car club was hosting their New Years’ Day kick-off. In years past, the Majestics have held their soiree in Long Beach, over in Santa Fe Dam, but this time around, it was held in North Hollywood, and as expected, they packed a full house.

This year the two main attractions seemed to be Jimmy Humilde’s impressive collection of rides and surprisingly, even the Lowrider Magazine rig was in two and made an appearance complete with their standard giveaways and promotions.

Many of the usual suspects were on hand and among the clubs in attendance were: Majestics, Individuals, Low Bottomz, South Side, Just Us, Way of Life, and Low Low’s car club just to name a few.

Another Surprise Appearance

Another surprise appearance – which wasn’t advertised – was the showing of the old “El Joker” from Red’s Hydraulics. This legendary hopper marks the end of an era, and for many – myself included – it brought back a ton of nostalgic memories from yesteryear. We’ve got a ton of photos to share, but for now, we’ll post up a few but check back in a few days because we have plenty more and a few announcements that will be made shortly.

On the opposite end of Jimmy Humilde’s line up and the Lowrider rig, was another showcase of vehicles brought by none other than Speedy from Speedy’s Metal Finishing. In what seemed to be an endless line up of fly rides, Speedy and the crew bought out a barrage of Impalas that looked like a bag of Skittles exploded. From purple to black, orange to yellow, there was something for everyone and it was definitely a picture worthy site as it always is.
