The end of October is when things start cooling down, but it’s also that time of the year when things heat up as everyone gets ready to exercise their inner demon for Halloween. Besides trying to collect enough candy to keep you wired for a few months, it’s a time to celebrate, and this year our friend and fellow photographer A1 Visualz teamed up with Sweet Life LA to throw their Trunk or Treat.

We arrived at Jesse St. right around 6 pm with about 20 cars already in formation. As the night progressed, more and more people showed up, including a few big rigs trying to drop their loads. The night ended with probably 100 cars, and since a few volunteers were helping navigate the truckers, it all turned out proper.

It was nice seeing families dress up together, but it was even more awesome seeing the adults dress up along with their kids. At around 9:30, the kids huddled up around the center of the event to participate in the costume contest. Folks came out in full force, and not going to lie, some of those costumes were straight up wild looking while others gave you a good laugh. Once that was complete, the lowriders took center stage for a hop while the background of DTLA served as a great backdrop spent with family and friends. Till next time, stay safe out there and remember, “Be good, but if you can’t, be careful.”
